In a bid to ensure stable power supply to customers across its franchise areas, the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), has taken delivery of 150 new transformers to be distributed to communities whose transformers are currently overloaded.

Godwin Idemudia, General Manager, Corporate Communications, EKEDC, confirmed this in a statement, saying, the move was part of the company’s continuous infrastructure and assets upgrade programme.

According to Idemudia, the 150 transformers purchased, in addition to 110 already on ground, would be distributed to releave communities whose transformers are currently overloaded.

He stated that this is one of the numerous CAPEX investments the company has made towards improving services and boost supply to its customers.

Thr GM, while assuring that more developments are underway, stated that the distribution and installations of the transformers will commence soon across the network.

He urged the affected communities to please bear with the company as all hands are on deck to reduce overloading on all transformers in the network adding that the Disco is committed to ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.

Idemudia also enjoined customers to support the company in its fight against vandalism and destruction of electrical equipment, which he said are the major causes of irregular power supply in its network.

He also advised customers to make use of its whistle-blowing platforms to report illegal and unethical activities, insisting the platforms are very safe, confidential, and secure ways of alerting the company of illegal activities.

According to him, the whistle-blowing platforms can also be used to report unscrupulous members of staff that partake in illegal activities such as fraud and extortion of customers.
