The certificate was presented to Tinubu by INEC Chairman cum Returning Officer of the election, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
The President-elect and the Vice president-elect, Kashim Shettima, collected and signed the Certificates of Return.
The event was graced by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Governors under the platform of APC, Ministers and party members.
Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) was in the early hours of Wednesday, declared the winner of Saturday’s presidential election.
The former Lagos state governor polled a total vote of 8,794,726 to defeat his closest rival and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar who scored 6,984,520 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour party who polled 6,101,533 votes. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), came a distant fourth with a total votes of 1,496,687 votes.
