APC Wins 26 of 27 House Of Assembly Seats In Imo
Prof. Sylvia Agu, the state INEC Commissioner, said only the result from Ahiazu Mbaise is yet to be declared as the election in the area was declared inconclusive.
Some of the candidates who were reelected include Amara Iwuanyanwu, Deputy Speaker of the House, Ibeh Kennedy C. (Obowo), Onyemachi Kanayo (Owerri West), Hon. Eddy Obinna (Aboh Mbaise), and Nwaneri Chigozie Reginald (Oru East).
Meanwhile, the Labour Party and the peoples Democratic Party in the state have rejected the results of the House of Assembly elections in the state, alleging manipulation of the results in favour of the ruling party.
However, the APC in the state has described the allegations by the LP and the PDP as untrue, saying they are bad losers whose claims of winning the election are a figment of their imagination.
The APC has congratulated all the members-elect describing the outcome of the election as the true wishes of the Imo people and the result of the commitment and developmental contributions of the ruling party led by Governor Hope Uzodimma to the welfare and well-being of Imo citizens.
Governorship Election: PDP Wins in Plateau, Delta States
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Caleb Mutfwang has been declared as the winner of the governorship election in Plateau State.
The INEC Returning Officer in the state, Prof Idris Amali declared Mutfwang as the winner having scored 525,299 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nantawe Yilwatda of the APC.
Yilwatda, the anointed candidate of the incumbent Governor Simon Lalong, scored 481,370 votes while the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Patrick Dakum came a distant third with 60,310 votes.
According to the electoral umpire, the PDP scored the highest votes in 10 local government areas of Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Lantang North, Langtang South, Riyom, Mikang, Mangu, Jos East as well as Qua’an Pan and Pokkos while the APC scored highest votes in seven local government areas of Jos East, Kanke, Kanam, Pankshin, Shendam, Wase and Jos North respectively.
PDP’s Sheriff Oborevwori Defeats Omo-Agege in Delta
Similarly, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rt Honorable Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the March 18th Governorship election in Delta State.
Declaring the result at INEC Collation Center in Asaba, the INEC State Returning Officer Prof Georgewill Owunari, said Sheriff Oborevwori polled 360234 votes to defeat the APC Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who scored 240229.
The Labour Party candidate, Kennedy Pela came a distant third with 48047.
The PDP candidate, Oborevwori won in 21 out of the 25 Local Government Areas of the state leaving the APC with four local government Areas.
Umahi’s Ally, Nwifuru Declared Winner in Ebonyi
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Francis Nwifuru as the winner of the March 18 poll in Ebonyi State.
Nwifuru, the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, polled 199,131 to defeat Ifeanyi Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 80,191 and Ben Odo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who got 52,189.
Nwifuru is an ally of the incumbent governor, Dave Umahi, who won the February 25 election to Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
