Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved a 20 per cent salary increase for core civil servants in the state.
He did shortly after he was declared as the winner of the March 18th governorship election in Lagos State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Sanwo-Olu was seeking reelection for a second term of four years .
A circular no. 023 signed by Muri-Akunola, Head of Service, Lagos state dated 20th March 2023 reads in part: “This is to notify for general information that Mr. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanw-Olu in his determination to improve the welfare and well being of public officers in Lagos state has graciously approve the increase in salaries for officers in the mainstream public service, local government and local government development area as well as Universal basic education board by 20 per cent with effect from January 1.
