Tinubu Appoints Ribadu, Alake, Wale Edun, Five Others As Special Advisers

President Bola Tinubu has appointed eight persons as special advisers, among them; a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and a former Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Dele Alake.
State House Director Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye, said in a statement on Thursday that the President appointed Alake as his Special Adviser of Special Duties, Communications and Strategy and Ribadu as his Special Adviser on Security.
Also, Yau Darazo was appointed as Special Adviser on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, while Wale Edun was named Special Adviser on Monetary Policies.

The President also appointed Olu Verheijen as Special Adviser on Energy and Zachaeus Adedeji as Special Adviser on Revenue.

Others are John Uwajumogu (Special Adviser, Industry, Trade and Investment), and Salma Anas (Special Adviser, Health).

The appointments are with immediate effect, the statement concluded.

The latest appointments followed the Senate’s approval of the President’s request for 20 Special Advisers on June 6, 2023.

Earlier, Tinubu had appointed the immediate past Speaker of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as Chief of Staff, while a former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, was appointed as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

A former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Ibrahim Hadejia, was named Deputy Chief of Staff.
