One of the media strategists to former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Lateef Raji is dead.
Details of his death are sketchy but he was said to have died on Sunday, August 13 according to feelers from those close to the government house at Alausa.
His passing is a big shock to many who did not know he was battling a life threatening ailment.
Reactions have trailed his death with theLagos State All Progressive Congress describing his death as a huge loss to the party.
APC spokesman in Lagos Joe Igbokwe ssid Raji was a dedicated servant of the party right from the AD, AC, ACN, and now APC.
Igbokwe said the party will miss Raji and prayed Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Raji was special adviser information and strategy to Fashola and later a commissioner in the state’s independent electoral commission (LASIEC).
He was also the director of campaign for theelection of incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Raji took active part during the recently held Lagos State local government poll not withstanding the state of his health.
Also mourning Raji is Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who described his death as shocking.
A statement by Ambode’s chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna said the people and government of the state will miss Raji, and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
He has been buried according to Islamic injucntions.
