A section of the Supreme Court complex situated at the Three-Arm-Zone, Abuja, was gutted by fire on Monday morning.
According to sources, the incident began around 7am and originated from Chamber 5 on the fourth floor of the Supreme Court building, where the Justices’ Chambers were located.
The Chambers are situated behind the courtrooms of the apex court with Chamber 5 occupied by Justice Mohammed Saulawa.
No life was lost in the inferno that also affected two adjacent offices.
The Director of Information for the Court, Mr Festus Akande, speaking to Channels Television via telephone, attributed the fire to an electrical spark.
It was gathered that valuable documents and office furnishings were damaged by the fire on the fourth floor of the Justices’ Chambers.
