Imolites Signed Up for Another Round of Development, Trade Minister Hails Uzodimma’s Electoral Victory 
The victory of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma in yesterday’s governorship election in the state has been hailed by the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite.
The minister, who congratulated Uzodimma on his victory, declared the the people of Imo have just signed for another round of massive development.
It will be recalled that the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Saturday’s off-cycle election in Imo State, Professor Abayomi Fasina, on Monday morning, declared Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election after pulling 540,308, votes.

Uzoka-Anite, in a statement by her media adviser, Oladapo Sofowora, said Governor Uzodimma’’s resounding and convincing victory is a huge one for all Imolite and it will rejig the commitment of Uzodimma’s Administration towards the development of the state.
According to her, the governor’s re-election is a reflection of the good job he has done since his administration came on board in January 2020.
She said “I want to congratulate Governor Hope Uzodimma on his victory at the just concluded pools. Imolites have sent him back to Douglas House to serve them for another four years and I am quite sure that the mandate given to him will be to the best advantage of all Imolites.
“This victory will mark the beginning of another round of development within the state. Imolites should rest assured that Governor Uzodimma will complete all existing projects and embark on new ones that will benefit all and sundry. He will also bring all the dividends of democracy to the people.
“I also want to congratulate all Ndi Imo for shunning every form of violence and coming out to vote massively for Governor Uzodimma. We have set a precedent as a peaceful state by resisting all forms of intimidation and violence to freely perform our civic duty while delivering all 27 Local Governments for him and the All Progressives Congress APC.”
The Minister who is currently on official assignment for the country in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the Saudi-Africa Summit, also promised that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will further deepen its commitment and quest to attract more life-changing projects to Imo state.
She further disclosed that Imo State will be opened for more employment through job creation via industrialization and also foreign direct investment, which is why President Tinubu is in Saudi Arabia to woo investors to invest in many sectors of the economy.
“We are currently in Saudi Arabia to ensure we sell Nigeria to foreign investors to ensure more jobs and prosperity and with Governor Uzodimma’s emergence, we are very sure Imo State will benefit when our trip to Saudi starts materializing.
“Once again, I congratulate him on this resounding victory and I know all he has promised Imolites in his campaign manifesto he will fulfil without stress and I am ready to join hands with him to ensure Imolites and other Nigerians move on the path of prosperity”, she added.
Akpabio Congratulates Uzodinma On His Reelection
… Says victory affirmation of excellent performance 
President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state on his victory in last Saturday Gubernatorial Election.
Senator Akpabio in a congratulatory letter hailed Governor Uzodinma for his resilience and commitment to genuine democratic practices saying “Good governance has triumphed over propaganda”
Akpabio said “Your Excellency, I wish to heartily congratulate and rejoice with you and the people of Imo State on your well-deserved re-election as the Executive Governor of Imo state. Your victory is a testimony of your excellent performance in office in the last four years.
“I must say, this victory is an affirmation by the Ndi Imo of your sterling leadership qualities and confirmation of your outstanding performance and delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people.

“Therefore, on behalf of the APC family in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I congratulate you on this resounding 2nd term victory and pray for God’s wisdom to translate this victory into more tangible dividends of democracy for the good people of Imo state”, he stated.
Akpabio also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for refusing to give into blackmail and conducting a free and fair elections.
“I commend INEC for providing a level playing field for all the candidates and for conducting a transparent elections. I also commend the security agencies for keeping the trouble makers at bay and ensuring a peaceful conduct during the polls”.
“I urge you to be magnanimous in victory by extending your hands of fellowship to your fellow contestants and see this re-election as a renewed mandate to build on the foundations that you have already laid towards improving the lives of the people of Imo State.”
Sanwo-Olu Congratulates Uzodimma on Reelection 
Also, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated his Imo State counterpart and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Hope Uzodinma, on his victory at Saturday’s governorship election in the state, saying his re-election is well deserved.

Governor Sanwo-Olu in a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, on Sunday in London, said Governor Uzodinma’s success in the election is a validation of people’s acceptance of his administration, having impacted positively in the lives of the citizens during his first term in office.

He said the people of Imo State deserve commendation for coming out en-masse to perform their civic responsibility and for defying all odds to vote for Governor Uzodinma-led APC administration in the state.

Sanwo-Olu said Governor Uzodinma’s victory is a clear manifestation that the APC remains the party of choice for Nigerians, stressing that the party will continue to work in the best interest of Nigerians in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

He said: “I congratulate my brother and the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Governor Hope Uzodinma, for emerging victorious in Saturday’s gubernatorial election. I am glad that Governor Hope Uzodinma was returned by the good people of Imo State after a convincing victory over his opponents as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the poll.

“Governor Hope Uzodinma’s re-election affirms his administration’s good performance in the last four years. I believe strongly that he was re-elected because he delivered beyond the expectations of the Imo people during his first term.

“The APC candidate’s victory across the 27 local government areas in Imo State with over 400,000 vote margin against his main opponent, is a confirmation of the trust and belief of the people in the APC-led administration in Imo State, having benefitted immensely from the various people-oriented programmes of his administration.

“The real winners at the end of the day are citizens of Imo State because they have re-elected a “talk and do” governor. The victory is deserving. It is an assurance to us that the APC government at the state and national levels is doing something right. We know there are areas of improvement and we are determined to ensure that we give Nigerians the best they deserve.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu also commended President Bola Tinubu for creating a level playing ground for the gubernatorial elections in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states.

He said the President deserves commendation for deepening democracy and the electoral process in Nigeria, considering some successes recorded in the Imo governorship election and gubernatorial polls in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
