President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences with the Ezeife family, the people, and the government of Anambra State on the passing of a former governor of the state, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife.
Ezeife who was governor of Anambra from 1992 to 1993, died at 6 pm on Thursday at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, according to a statement by his family.
The spokesperson for the President, Ajuri Ngelale, said in a statement on Thursday that Tinubu extoled the towering influence of the former governor and a one time federal permanent secretary in Nigeria’s political landscape as well as his leadership credentials, describing his passing as a painful loss.
The President recalled the contributions the late Ezeife made in the shaping of public discourse and governance in Nigeria, as well as in laying the foundation for the advancement of his dear state.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the dearly departed and urged his loved ones to take solace in his indelible legacy.
