The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) has secured the approval of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery management for the purchase and distribution of petroleum products produced by the refinery.
The major oil marketers – NNPC Retail, Conoil Plc, Total Nigeria Plc, 11 Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, and OVH Energy Marketing will kickstart distribution of refined petroleum products from the Refinery once commercial terms are finalised.
The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on social media, Dada Olusegun, disclosed this in a statement on the X Platform, formerly Twitter.
According to Olusegun, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) will also discuss about loading arrangements with the Refinery management.
The statement read: “MOMAN’s registered members, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail, are poised to purchase and distribute products from the refinery, which can load 2,900 trucks daily and adheres to Euro V specifications.
“Dangote’s refinery design adheres to standards set by the World Bank, US EPA, European emission norms, and Department of Petroleum Resources emission/effluent norms, utilizing advanced technology.”
He also noted that the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has constantly been engaging the Dangote Refinery management over the supply of products from the facility.
The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery, commenced production on Friday after it received six million barrels of crude oil from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The refinery’s management then assured Nigerians that refined products, starting with diesel and aviation fuel, will hit the market in January 2024.
