The All Progressive Congress (APC) has accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of ignoring their own problems to interfere in that of the ruling party.
The APC spokesmen, Bolaji Abdullahi who spoke to AIT on Saturday in an interview said the PDP should be ashamed that they are now champions of restructuring which they glossed over for 16 years when the party was in power.
Abdullahi also took exception to advice by the PDP to APC to hold convention, noting that the problems within PDP are too numerous and demanding for the members to start worrying about what happens to another party.
Abdullahi however lauded the recent collaboration between the PDP and APC members to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari from medical vacation in London as well as the meeting both parties held recently with Buhari in Aso Rock, noting that it is an indication that our democracy is maturing.
” It is good for us to realise that the President of the country is Buhari and that he is not the President of the APC or a party,” he added.
The APC spokesman said the perceived rancour within the National Assembly where they have majority members does not suggest the party was divided nor does it show lack of understanding with the Executive but democracy in action where the rule of non interference must be obeyed.
He said a healthy democracy must come with shades of opinions otherwiise dictatorshop will fester. “But the APC will prefer the practice of democracy at its best to dictatorship,” he noted.
