The strike by resident doctors entered its second day on Tuesday, September 5, with the effect being felt at different hospitals across the country.
The Federal government will meet the doctor again today, Wednesday as they seek ways of ending the strike.
Government is angry that the doctors took it unawares to commence the action.
Doctors under the umbrella of National Association of Resident Doctors ( NARD) embarked on the indefinite work to rule over poor services and welfare matters as they affect their members.
A meeting with the Labour and Employment minister Chris Ngige and his counterpart in the Health ministry, Isaac Adewole could not resolve the strike few days ago when they met causing the doctors body to tell their members to down tools.
Ngige wo had earlier thought of another meeting with NARD on November 2 quickly surmoned the doctors to another meeting on Wednesday, September 6.
Ahead of Wednesday’s deliberation, reports from government hospitals nationwide indicate that the patients are not finding things easy even with the promise that consultants would be engaged to look at their situations.
Armadanews.com gathered from patients admitted in most hospitals that they want the strike end as quickly as possible.
Most of them complained they could not see the socalled consultants because of the number of patients on the queue to see the consultants.
Regardless, Adewale insists the Chief Medical Directors of government hospitals should engage more consultants during the period of strike to deal with the problems facing their patients.
