Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has slammed the status of terrorists on the Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), using reasons that may appear ridiculous to justify their position.
It did on Friday, September 15 in a statement issued by Director of Defence Information, Major General John Enemche.
The decision was taken after the face-off between the IPOB members and the soldiers who were deployed to the South East, mainly Abia state in the name of Python Dance 11 (Egwu Eke).
Many had condemned the deployment, saying it had the capacity of creating tension where there is none.
In the course of the deployment, IPOB members clashed with the soldiers leading to shooting, killing and maiming of the IPOB members and the barricade of the home of the leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu.

e. Militant possession and use of weapons (stones, molotov cocktails, machetes and broken bottles among others) on a military patrol on 10 September 2017.
f. Physical confrontation of troops by Nnamdi Kanu and other IPOB actors at a check point on 11 September 2017 and also attempts to snatch their rifles.
