Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has said that the Federal Government had approved the payment of N45billion severance package to former personnel of the defunct Nigeria Airways.
The approval was communicated to the public at Wednesday, September 20 Federal Executive Council meeting.
The national carrier was liquidated by ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration in 2005, and the workers have been embarking on protests after protests nationwide over their unpaid entitlements.
The latest was even last week when they appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to come to their aid as they were dying in their number as a result of hardship.
