Senior government officials starting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives , Yakubu Dogara have applauded the Super Eagles for qualifying for the World Cup holding in Russia next year.
They were among other state governors who watched the encounter between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Chipolopolo of Zambia at Uyo on Saturday where Nigeria defeated Zambia one goal to nill to pick the 2018 World Cup qualifier status.
Buhari said the players not only did Nigeria proud but have shown that with determination the country can go to places.
The President admonished the players to remain focused knowing that the future engagement has a lot to tell about their capabilities.
Buhari assured the players of government support to ensure that Nigeria had a good outing in Russia.
Saraki, Ekweremadu, Dogara and the others urged the Super Eagles to remain focused and continue to do the country proud.
