Former Nigeria’s President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday, October 17 vowed no to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying he dog does not return to its vomit.
Obasanjo reiterated his position on partisan politics while speaking to journalists after meeting behind closed-doors with the National Caretaker Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi.
The meeting took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun state capital and lasted for almost an hour.
Said Obasanjo: “I will never return to the PDP, just like a dog would never return to its vomit.”
Obasanjo dumped the PDP when he publicly tore his membership card weeks to the 2015 general elections and has resisted attempts to lure him back to politics.
Apart from Makarfi, other prominent politicians have been visiting his at his Otta home to woo Obasanjo back but he has always said no to their request.
