Security personnel of the State House (Presidency) have raised the alarm over what they call diversion and or non-payment of arrears of allowances due them by their supervisors.

They have therefore petitioned the National Security Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that the approval for the payment had long been given by the President, and that most of their counterparts had long been paid since October this year that Buhari gave his approval.

According to the security personnel of the Presidency, the allowances called Risk Caution Allowances (RCA) was approval by the President for all State House security personnel, and cover presidential movements within the South West, South South and South East. It also covers assignments involving the Vice President and visiting presidents of foreign countries.

According to them, they were given forms (Presidential Villa Security Staff Personal Data Form) from the NSA office to fill in January and again, November this year for the allowance.

They complained that while their colleagues at the Presidential Villa, Abuja have been receiving alerts on payment since October, those of them who are at the Lagos Unit, particularly 239, Dodan Barracks, Lagos have been kept in the dark.

They said they petitioned the NSA because his office is responsible for effecting the payment as funds for that are channeled to his office.

The 63 security who lamented that they have made several representations to the office of the NSA without any result feared that their allowances may have been diverted in a fraudulent way.
