The touted 2019 presidential ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari is unsettling his supporters and those of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

While Buhari’s supporters are comfortable with his endorsement for the APC top job, those of Atiku have kicked against.

Adamawa APC had met at the weekend and agreed that Buhari and the state governor, Bindo Jubrila, should continue beyond 2019.

Atiku is believed to be a contender for the office of the presidency even though he had not formally declared his interest.

Buhari too has not told anyone he wants to recontest in 2019 but his supporters have been going about with the impression of a President who wants a second term and have accordingly endorsed him.

Recently when the South West APC leaders met in Ibadan former Interim APC Chairman, Bisi Akande told newsmen that anyone keen on contesting for the presidency was at liberty to do so.

His view however did not go down well with the leadership of the APC.

Buhari’s supporters carried their endorsement sermon to Adamawa State Government House and later to the APC Secretariat where former Senator Jonathan Zwingina read what looked like a communique.

But Atiku’ s men said they did not endorse Buhari even though they are not against the second term ambition of Jubrila.
