Zimbabweans in their thousands took to the streets of Harare on Saturday calling on their President, Robert Mugabe to resign.
Soldiers reportedly tried to oust Mugabe on Thursday but the attempt failed.
But there was a meeting of ZANU- PF party members on Friday where it was agreed that Mugabe should step down as the party’s leader and hand over to his deputy.
Mugabe is to hand over in few months time but hopes to stand in for election next year when ho wiuld be 94.
But the protests in Harare are part of moves by those opposed to Mugabe’s continued stay in office and plot to hand over to the wife.
