One hundred and eighty-four persons lost their lives while another 125 are on danger list in Egypt after a group believed to be terrorists attacked a mosque in North Sinai region of the country on Friday.
Ahran Online, an Egypt medium reported that two explosions went off in the mosque and that gunmen waited outside the mosque and thereafter starting shooting at the fleeing worshipers after prayers at the Al-Rawdan mosque in the area.
Egyptian health ministry’s spokesman, Khalid Miyahid described what happened as a “terrorist attack.”
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was reported to be meeting with security committee on the implications shortly after the incident.
