Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu has visited the embattled leader of Independent People of Biafra [IPOB], Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kuje, Abuja Prison where he is held by the federal government.

Shortly after the visit, Kalu spoke to newsmen explaining the purpose of the visit.

He said that his cherished concern is to see Kanu regain his freedom like every other Nigerian.

Thereafter, he wrote on his Facebook wall: “Today, I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Kuje Prison and we engaged in a very long discussion.

“Kanu is my brother and a son of the soil. He shouldn’t be where he is because Kuje Prison is not his home.

“It is therefore my utmost concern to see him regain his freedom like every other Nigerian.”

It could be recalled that  Kalu recently defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Following today’s meeting with Kanu, pundits are speculating that Kalu is already pulling his APC strings.

Kanu is being prosecuted by Nigerian government on alleged  treason and incitement against the federal government.

Nnamdi has been leading an agitation Nigeria in his demand for a Sovereign State of Biafra.

He was, earlier this week denied bail by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
