Anambra APGA suspends chairman

By Baron Ike

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)  appears to be on the receiving end today as politicians from the South East seeking elective positions from the zone in 2019 appear to be joining the party in droves.

This development is made worse by the recent sweeping of polls in all the local government areas in Anambra State by the party in the November governorship election.

Governor Willie Obiano swept all the poll in the 21 local government areas, a feat no party in the South East has ever recorded.

Conscious of the new rush into the party, Obiano recently told South East governors to forget their reelection unless they rejoin APGA as the hurricane will sweep politicians not in the party out of office in 2019.

Obiano was speaking during the formal flag off of the Anambra Central Senatorial reelection involving former APGA National Chairman Victor Umeh.

Sources said in Imo State, politicians desirous of making impact in their ambition in 2019 have moved to APGA.

For instance, in Owerri zone alone, two key personalities- Uche Onyeagocha and Frank Nneji have joined APGA.

Armadanews.com learnt that more politicians are in secret talks with the APGA leadership in Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu on how to join.
