Governor Solomon Lalong of Plateau State met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Thursday where he said the solution to incessant farmers and herdsmen attack is ranching.
Drawing a lesson from the killings in Benue where more than 70 indigenes were killed early this year by Fulani herdsmen, and were buried on Thursday amid tears, Lalong said he was ready to donate land for cattle owners determined to ranch their cows.
He decried a situation where indigenes and herdsmen will engage in protracted warfare over grazing, noting that the solution lies in resorting to mechanised cattle rearing which is ranching.
