The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a Certificate of Return to Victor Umeh who emerged winner in the recently concluded Anambra Central Senatorial re-run election.
The rerun poll was held on January 13 and Umeh was declared the winner.
The INEC National Commissioner South-East, Professor Okey Ibena, while presenting the certificate on Tuesday in Abuja, assured that the commission would continue to improve on the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in the country.
INEC on Sunday, while declaring Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the winner of the re-run election held in seven local government areas of the senatorial district, said he met all the conditions required to pronounce him duly elected.
Umeh was accompanied by members of APGA at the National Assembly, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, Hon. Gabriel Onyenweife, Hon. Anayo Nnebe, Hon. Prestige of Aba North and South and members of the state and National leadership of APGA, Hon. Norbert Obi, Bar. Ifeatu Obiokoye, Chief Akunwata Mike Kwento.
Other dignitaries are Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Prince Emeka Udodeme, Hon. Engr. Ikeobi Ejiofor, Hon. Bar. Obiadi Ayodele, Hon. Okey Nwankwo (Ike Nibo), Chief Theophine Nnoli, Chief Bar. Mrs. Edith Mike-Ejezie, among others.
