Adeolu Bajomo, 52, former Executive Director, Market Operations and Technology at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), has been appointed Executive Director, Informational Technology and Operations of Access Bank Plc.
A graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Ife, Osun State, Nigeria and MSc Information System Engineering from South Bank University, London, Bajomo replaces Mrs. Ojinika Olaghere, who recently resigned her appointment at the bank with effect from June 30, 2018, “to pursue other personal interest”.
A statement by Sunday Ekwochi, company secretary of the bank said that prior to joining the NSE, Bajomo, who holds an MBA from CASS Business School, was Regional Head, Transformation Programme at Barclays Bank Plc, UK between 2007 and 2011; before which he was Head, IT Strategy and Systems at Pearl Insurance Group UK from 2006 to 2007; and IT Director at Fortis Bank, UK (1997 – 2006).
He is a chartered member of the British Computer Society and a member of the Institute of Directors.
The statement quoted Mrs. Mosun Belo-Olusoga, chairman of the bank as expressing delight at the new hire who “brings on board very relevant banking industry and significant board room experience from global leading institutions.”
Bajomo’s appointment, which has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), she assured, “will inevitably improve the skill set and diversity of our board and support our digital and retail aspirations and quest to become the world’s most respected African bank.”
