Heads are set to roll in a branch of Fidelity Bank over the recent discovery of a fraud in excess of N250 million.

A senior personnel of the bank at its Allen Avenue Ikeja branch was recently discovered to have stolen a depositor’s money and faked own kidnap to evade arrest.

The personnel believed to be from Edo State raised documents which he claimed were from the depositor and got the customer care unit of Fidelity Bank to process the request for the payment.

Sources said Fidelity Bank management had issued a query to the Business Development manager of the branch with inside sources saying that the jobs of Operations manager and the customer care unit officer who approved of the withdrawal are also on the line.

The affected personnel are said to be explaining to the management what they knew about the fraudulent scam that was facilitated through the Bureau De Change ( BDC).

However, the personnel at the centre of the fraud had long gone missing even as he was said to be on the verge of retirement having served in the bank for more than 20 years.

Head of Fidelity Bank Corporate Communications, Charles Aigbe neither picked his calls nor responded to text message sent to him on the matter for his response.

Earlier, another officer in the department who was contacted by Armadanews.com, Henry Ndiulo promised to get back to us on the details of what transpired but did not.
