Hundreds of passengers were stranded at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, due to a chartered aircraft that broke down on the runway and made taking off and landing of other aircraft difficult.
The aircraft broke down at about 2 pm, said a staff at the boarding gate.
The development has forced planes that were due for landing to return to where they departed from and prevented take-off from Abuja.
The boarding gate staff told SaharaReporters that no announcement of the development was made to prevent passengers from protesting, as no solution has been found to move the aircraft off the runway.
