Former deputy governor of CBN, Professor Kingsley Moghalu, has announced plans to run for the highest office in Nigeria.
Moghalu did on Monday when he spoke to reporters in Lagos.
He said that time had come for technocrats, intellectuals and experienced people to take power from Nigeria’s career politicians who have not done much to develop the country.
Moghalu said that he was already consulting widely on the project, and that he would not be deterred from contesting, in spite of speculations that 2023 was zoned for Igbo presidency.
He said that zoning, which had been used in the past is no longer necessary, if Nigeria must develop at the pace other countries in the world are developing.
