● APC Presidential Campaign Rally: SWC Thanks Party Faithful, Imo People
It was commendations galore on Wednesday for Governor Hope Uzodimma over the huge success he recorded with the hosting of the Presidential Campaign rally in Owerri, Tuesday.
At the Imo State Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 presided over by Governor Uzodimma, members of the Council took turns to eulogise the Governor for successfully hosting the APC South East Presidential Campaign rally in Owerri, Imo State Capital.
Addressing newsmen at the end of the Meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba said the EXCO commended the Governor over the “level of mobilization, security and orderliness witnessed during the rally,” describing it as “unprecedented and a show of the Governor’s clear evidence of leadership and a manifestation that Imo is truly an APC State.”
He added that, “EXCO noted that the National leadership of the APC which includes President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman and the entire APC stalwarts who were in Owerri and beyond for the rally were all impressed on the massive turnout and excellent organisation of the rally.”
Emelumba who flanked by the Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs, Prince Henry Okafor and the Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser to the Governor, Chief Oguwike Nwachuku said, “the Executive Council has directed all Government appointees to ensure they go to their Wards and mobilize members and encourage them to participate in the forthcoming election.”
Besides, he said the Council told Government appointees not only to mobilize their people to participate actively, but to ensure that there are free, fair and credible elections in the State.
Emelumba reiterated Government’s earlier information that it was accessing fund from First bank for ongoing signature projects across the State as “a discounted funds based on her legitimate earnings from the 13 per cent oil derivations funds totaling N22 billion,” emphasizing that “what government is asking from the First Bank is not a loan rather a discounted fund which means the money belongs to Imo State.”
The difference, he told newsmen, is that “Government is asking for this money in bulk instead of waiting for it to be coming monthly from the Federal Government.”
