The federal government of Nigeria has said the seat of power at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja is safe.

The government spoke against the backdrop of the travel advice given to some foreign nationals resident at the FCT, Abuja by their government to be wary of the place.

From time to time the local governments of certain foreigners living in Nigeria advice their nationals on impending dangers, mainly security issues.

One of such pieces of advice was sent out by some foreign nations at the weekend warning their nationals to be careful in Abuja if they must remain in the place or leave for now.

But the federal government through the minister of information, Lai Mohammed dismissed the claim on Sunday, saying Abuja is safe and that there is no need for the foreigners living there to panic.

Mohammed said the government of President Muhamadu Buhari has the security of lives of Nigerians and non Nigerians alike as a priority.
