Simon Achuba, the ousted deputy governor of Kogi state says his impeachment was an illegality and cannot stand.
Achuba spoke on Sunday to the media as he moved out of his official residence in Lokoja, the state capital.
The Kogi State House od Assembly announced Achuba’s removal on Friday and said he was found guilty of all issues brought against him.
The deputy governor said the panel set up to look into the matters against him has actually dismissed them but the Assembly went ahead to act contrarily and ousted him.
Achuba said the lawmakers decision cannot hold as he still remains the deputy governor.
He urged all the people of Kogi to resit the illegality that was being orchestrated by Governor Yahaya Bello.
Another deputy governor is biled to be sworn in on Monday, October 21.
