The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has named some federal lawmakers who allegedly got contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The lawmakers, who got the contracts, according to report included Peter Nwabaoshi, Chairman of the Senate committee on Niger Delta. He was listed against 53 projects.
Others are Senator Matthew Urhoghide, who got six projects, Senator James Manager reportedly got six contracts while Samuel Anyanwu, a former senator allegedly got contracts for 19 projects.
Nicholas Mutu, a former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on the NDDC, reportedly received 74 contracts.
Akpabio, had last week retracted his allegation that lawmakers got 60 per cent of the NDDC contracts, after the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, threatened to sue him for failing to name the lawmakers who benefitted from the contracts.
The former governor made the allegation while testifying before the Senate ad hoc committee probing alleged financial recklessness by the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC.
