Olisa Agbakoba, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and legal authority has told presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar not to go to court to challenge his victory by President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress.
Agbakoba has probably told Atiku what his opponents want to hear and they are already applauding him for that advice.
Atiku had held a world press conference where he indicated interest to challenge the results of the presidential election in court.
Akpakoba said though it looks tempting to approach the court, the circumstances in the country’s judiciary do not support such.
He said The Buhari administration has tweaked the judiciary in such a way that justice may not be served if Atiku goes to the Electoral Tribunal.
Instead of going to court, Akpakobia advised Atiku to step into the position of a statesman to unite the country given the pattern voting took in the just concluded presidential election that brought into the country premodial sentiments.
