The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja is gradually getting to the end of the case between president Muhammadu Buhari and the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Buhari on Thursday, August 1  closed their defence in the petition filed at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the petitioners are challenging the victory of Buhari and the APC at the February 23, 2019 presidential poll.

The five-man tribunal led by Justice Mohammed Garba had, on Monday, asked Buhari’s legal team to open their defence on Tuesday, July 23 after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it would not call any witness in the case.

Justice Garba then fixed August 21 for adoption of written addresses.
