The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives (APC), Mai Mala Buni has announced February 26 as the date for the ruling party’s convention.
Buni, who is also the governor of Yobe State, made the announcement on Tuesday at the national progressive women conference 2022 held at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
According to him, the party is counting on the support of women to hold a successful convention.
Governors elected on the platform of the APC, met behind closed doors on Sunday night and resolved that the party’s convention must hold in February.
Chairman of the forum, Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Bagudu, told journalists at the end of the meeting that the announcement of the convention date would be made known by the caretaker committee of the party.
The progressive governors also passed a vote of confidence on the Buni – led caretaker committee of the party.
