Former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim has said that the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) is dead.
Ohakim, one of the APGA governorship aspirants in Imo State for the 2019 election was speaking in Owerri on Thursday, shortly after the federal high court in Owerri heard the case of the aggrieved APGA governorship aspirants who want the court to cancel the purported primaries that produced Ifeanyi Araraume.
Ohakim said what transpired that eventually gave rise to Araraume as the candidate of APGA for Imo state was nothing but a charade that can not be allowed to stand.
He said the APGA leadership had exposed their selfish and criminal intents and by so doing, exposed the party to ridicule which he said the party will not recover from.
He compared APGA with a 100KVA transformer which the owner pumps with a 500 KVA power, saying if such happens it will definitely blow the transformer and burn it into ashes.
He said the APGA executives colluded with an aspirant to foist him on the state and on the other aspirants as the candidate when the so-called exercise was never witnessed by the relevant bodies as stipulated by the electoral law.
Ohakim said he will never be alive to allow such miscarriage of justice done on the people anymore no matter the status of those involved.
He said he will devote the remaining part of his life tom fight for justice and to ensure that politics is played according to rules.
