Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West in the senate has said the Monday arrest and parade of suspected thugs by the police in Abuja’s was a ploy to rope him in in a crime he did not know anything about.
Melaye was reacting to the allegation by the police that he was raising and arming an army of thugs with the intent of destabilising his state, Kogi in the build up to the 2019 election.
The senate described the allegation as laugh able and an attempt by Governor Yahaya Bello and his political associates to get at him in view of his strong criticisms of his administration.
