Despite the marathon meeting which the federal government- led delegation held with leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities  ( ASUU) on Thursday, September 7, both parties failed to agree on how to immediately end the strike .

Consequently, the lecturers left the meeting with

the opinion the strike continues.

The work to rule has entered the third week and both ASUU and FG have been meeting ever since with the public and students hoping the matter would be resolved soon.

Students under the auspices of National Association of Nigerian Students had recently given the government and the lecturers ultimatum to resolve the strike within two weeks or face their own wrath.

But despite the promise by Chris Ngige on behalf of the government that the government would pay  the teachers, ASUU failed to yield ground.

ASUU said until its members were communicated on the resolutions the strike still stays.
