There is going to be mass defection in the national assembly (NASS) any moment soon by lawmakers loyal to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku had resigned from the All Progressive Congress (APC) last week citing failure of the party to get things right.
He claimed he sought the face of God and the support of his family, associates and Nigerians before exiting from the APC.
Armadanews.com got it on good authority that the Waziri Adamawa is confident his movement is going to shake the foundation of the NASS as currently constituted.
” We expect there will be movements in the Senate and House of Representatives this coming week, but definitely the movement will be huge,” an Atiku associate told us at the weekend.
According to the source, it is not true that the APC is not jittery about Atiku’ s resignation, however, ” his resignation has forced them now to start rethinking the pre-2015 scenario.”
The APC leadership has eventually received Atiku’s resignation letter. They did at the weekend.
Though Atiku was silent on where his next political journey would take him to, insinuations are high he had joined his former party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) .
Atiku who turned 75 years last week is still nursing presidential ambition.
But PDP stalwarts say there is no automatic ticket for Atiku who abandoned them in 2014 for the APC.
Atiku had said the APC would be his last bus stop when asked in 2014 to explain his penchant for jumping from one party to another in an attempt to become Nigeria’s President by newsmen.
Atiku was one of the presidential aspirants if the APC before the party settled for Muhammadu Buhari.
