Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari, saying if elected in 2019 he will get his cabinet ready before inauguration.
Atiku, in an apparent criticism of President Buhari who was not able to do so until six months after his inauguration, said if elected president he would appoint his ministers before May 29, 2019.
“If Nigerians elect me as their President, I will NOT take 6 months before naming my cabinet. My cabinet will be ready before May 29, 2019, if by the grace of God, you elect me. Our country needs a decisive leader to Get Nigeria Working Again,” Atiku said on his verified Twitter handle.
Many believe Buhari’s failure to appoint a cabinet early was one of the factors that worsened Nigeria’s economic problem in the early years of his administration.
