Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His new political platform is still kept secret.
The governor disclosed this on Monday at the Government House in Makurdi while swearing in his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe.
Explaining the reasons behind his action, the governor said he has been sent out of APC and is currently exploring a new option to actualise his future ambition.
The governor has not, however, announced the party he will be joining, saying only that he is consulting with relevant stakeholders and will soon announce his next move.
Ortom has been one of the governors criticising the President Muhammadu Buhari policy on open grazing for which his stzate enacted a law to stop it.
Many Benue indigenes have been killed due to the incessant attack on the state by herdsmen and other criminal elements.
