Colonel Joe Hannibal Achuzia, great military commander of Biafra forces is dead. He died today at 93.
Achizia was a hero and great fighter till his last day.
His vocal views on Igbo interest were outstanding.
The Biafran warlord was the Secretary-General of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), world-wide
Achuzia, it was, who fought tirelessly to repel the marauding efforts of former Head of state, Murtala Mohammed during the Nigeria/Biafra civil war, to enter Onitsha.
While alive, Achizia held the view that the Igbo have remained under siege by Nigerian Army even though the government claims the civil war is over.
Popularly called Air Raid, Achizia will forever remain in the minds of many young Igbo intelligentsia, particularly those who believe the Igbo have not got their fair share in the Nigeria Project, and so, should be allowed to exit the union.
Already, Achizia’s passing is generating a lot of sympathy on the social media among those who loved him so passionately.
