Bill Gates, one of the world’s wealthiest being has advised the President Muhammadu Buhari government to take more interest in the programmes that would cater for the needs of the masses.
Gates and Nigerian richest man, Aliko Dangote joined the Nigerian government representatives at a meeting of the Nigeria’s Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday where he said the present economic programme implemented by the Buhari’s government does not capture the needs of Nigerians much.
Gates said: “The Nigerian government’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan identifies ‘investing in our people’ as one of three strategic objectives. But the execution priorities don’t fully reflect people’s needs.”
On his personal twitter handle @BillGates, he wrote: “Nigeria’s investments in its communities will yield benefits for years to come. #ImagineNigeria.”
Gates and wife, Melinda are the brains behind the Bill and Melinda Foundation that has done so much to assist in eradicating polio and other diseases in Nigeria and Africa.
