In another tragic occurrence, at least eight Nigerian soldiers are reported to have been killed following attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on two locations in Borno state, northeast Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Army Spokesman, Brigadier General Sanni Usman in a telephone interview with Channels Television, denied the incident, saying it’s not true.
He, however, referred our correspondent to the theatre Commander, Major General Lucky Irabor, who is yet to respond to the enquiry.
Several arms and ammunition were also said to have been carted away by the militants, including gun trucks, rocket propelled guns and AK 47 riffles.
It was gathered that the terrorists launched the attacks in trucks and motorcycles. Many of them were said to have been killed in the encounter.
