Apapa Lagos is blocked up to Alaka in Surulere on popular Ikorodu Road.

Tankers and trailers have taken over the long stretch right from the Wharf at Apapa due to on going road repair works at some designated points.

That has been made worse by the ugly incident of Wednesday, July 19 involving tanker drivers and the police which resulted in the killing of one driver and burnig of two banks.

Most of the tankers and heavy duty trucks were forced to park appropriately howbeit temporarily to give room for the road repair work going on currently.

The police have therefore advised motorists to seek alternative route of going to the Island and other parts of the city as the traffic situation on that axis will be tough for as long as the repair work goes on.

Oderinde Famous-Cole, Police spokesman in Lagos has issued a traffic alert to that effect and solicited the cooperation of Lagosians.

He assured that the police were working with other agencies of government to ameliorate the suffering motorists will experience during the period.9
