The police on Tuesday blocked the convoy of the Senate President Bukola Saraki making it difficult for him to move.

Saraki was on Monday summoned to the Force Headquarters today in connection with the Offa Kwara State robbery incident in April which he denied involvement in.

Police claimed that the suspects in the matter fingered Saraki as their sponsor.

Saraki had described his summon as political game coming after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari to persuade him not to quit the All Progressive Congress.

Saraki had earlier sent a written statement to the police on the matter on their directive.

On Tuesday, the Senate President was said to be heading for the police headquarters when suddenly his convoy was blocked on assumption he was headed for plenary.

Saraki’s deputy, Ike Ekweremadu also had his home besieged by security operatives who wanted to frustrate any move to have the National Assembly wade into the matter.

At press time it was said that other principal officers of the  senate were targets for house arrest.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara’s house is also under security surveillance.
