President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with the northern governors on the coming general election, but his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo was not part of the meeting. No reason was given at press time.
The governors claimed they had gone to brief Buhari on their level preparedness for the polls and to reiterate their support for the President.
It was also an opportunity for the Kaduna state governor, Nasir El- Rufai who spoke on behalf of his colleagues to say that the death toll in the Kajuru killing had risen to 130 from the initial 66.
The governors pledged theie loyalty and support to Buhari during the polls with the Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima saying he was even ready ro stake his life during the election in support of Buhari.
