President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State at the State House in Abuja.
Uzodimma, who spoke with journalists at the State House, shortly after the meeting with President Buhari, explained that his decision to invite the military in Orlu became imperative in order to check the growing crisis which was beyond local arrangement.
The governor insisted that the involvement of Military was not intended to crush anyone in Orlu but to forestall breakdown of law and order.
He said that the situation had been brought under control, adding that all those apprehended will be charged to court soon.
On the recent arrest of the former governor Rochas Okorocha in Imo state, Governor Uzodimma said he had no personal problems with Okorocha, even as he dismissed the report of attempt to assassinate the former governor.
Okorocha was arrested on Sunday by police operatives in Owerri for trying to forcefully unseal his wife’s hotel – Royal Spring Palm Hotels and Apartments, which was recently sealed by the Imo State Government.
