President Muhammadu Buhari’s perceived disposition in government appointments keeps playing out even few months to the 2019 general election as he has dropped the Newly appointed Bayelsa state-born Director General of the Department of State Security Services, Matthew Sieyefa.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo appointed Sieyefa as replacement for former sacked DSS DG, Lawal Daura when Osinbajo was acting president in August.
Speculations were rife that Buhari had frowned at the appointment of Sieyefa into Nigeria’s security circle and would have loved to determine who replaces Daura.
Daura is believed to be Buhari’s right hand man and was allegedly enjoying privileges that even impacted the country negatively.
Many had said Buhari would drop Sieyefa and that it was a matter of time.
On Thursday, Buhari proved his critics right when he has added another salt to an already sore injury by dropping the Bayelsa state born Sieyefa as director general of the DSS with Yusuf Magaji Bichi, from Kano State.
In a tweet by one of the Buhari’s spokesmen, Garba Shehu, he said: “President @MBuhari has approved with effect from the 14th of September, the appointment of Yusuf Magaji Bichi (fwc), as new Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS).”
