President Muhammadu Buhari has technically sacked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir and the Director General Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ayo Oke, replacing the duo with two other persons in acting capacity.
The new SGF, Dr. Habibat Lawal from Bauchi State assumed the position in acting Secretary on Thursday, April 20 in accordance with President Buhari’s directive.
Buhari through his media aide, Femi Adisina directed Lawal, who is the most senior Permanent Secretary at the SGF office to take over in an acting capacity.
Oke is technically sacked as DG NIA, as his tenure will end in November while he should have proceeded on pre-retirement leave in August.
His replacement, Ambassador Arab Yadam who is the most senior Permanent Secretary at the NIA is now the acting DG, in accordance to Buhari’s directive.
Babachir and Oke are to face an investigative panel over corruption related matters where their names were seriously mentioned.
